Judas and Simon of Cyrene tell Easter stories
On Easter weekend, pastors Brian Coffey and Jeff Frazier at First Baptist Church of Geneva, Ill., presented their messages as characters from the Gospel story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Four thousand ninety-four attended the services. On the Thursday and Friday nights before Easter, tables set to look like Jesus’ final meal with his disciples drew 1546 attendees to the church gymnasium, where they kneeled to receive communion.

Jamestown members make pizza for missions
Converge Heartland executive minister Larry Odle reports that 20 to 25 people from First Baptist Church, Jamestown, N.D., are working one six-hour shift each month at a local pizza factory to earn more than $1,000 monthly for FBC missions in Tanzania. Next year pastor Wayne Bangs plans to lead a missions team of nearly a dozen FBC members to provide “hut-to-hut” evangelism, discipleship, community development projects and possibly an eye clinic.

Renovated Haitian clinic dedicated
Converge leaders participated in the March 28 dedication of the Morne Pele clinic near Cap-Haitien in northern Haiti. Converge World Relief provided $40,000 for the renovation of eight examination rooms, a large reception room and storage for medical supplies. North Miami Haitian pastor Amos Eugene, Converge Haitian ministries coordinator Withny Pierre and Intercultural Ministries director Cirilo Doguiles represented Converge.
