Purpose and Vision:
As the prayer mobilization ministry of Converge Worldwide, Prayer First seeks to call local churches, pastors, missionaries, chaplains and other leaders to the extraordinary importance of prayer.
The Prayer First team engages in:
- Communicating the biblical call to prayer.
- Calling leaders to prayer and offering opportunities for leaders to spend focused time in worship and prayer.
- Collaborating with the larger body of Christ in national and international prayer mobilization.
- Challenging intercessors to greater levels of humble and desperate prayer for revival and spiritual awakening.
- Coordinating prayer journeys to bless missionaries overseas and ministry leaders nationally.
Ministry Goals 2011 - 2012:
- Offer yearly prayer training opportunities for church prayer leaders, including Praying Church Conference.
- Develop stronger District relationships with training materials and regional “prayer champions.”
- Maintain strong web site presence, blog, and e-mail newsletters to share encouragement and resources on prayer.
- Expand the intercessor prayer base through Converge Worldwide (BGC) constituency.
- Catalyze Converge Worldwide church involvement in national/international prayer initiatives such as the Global Day of Prayer and the National Day of Prayer.
- Facilitate prayer journeys to mission fields as invited by field coordinators.
- Hold prayer weekends in Converge Worldwide (BGC) churches by using Prayer First steering team members and regional prayer champions
- Find ways to connect with like-minded prayer ministries to discern areas of collaboration
