One By One Haiti

One by One Haiti is the Converge Worldwide child sponsorship project designed to improve the quality of life for Haitian children and their families. This project, launched in 2003, aims to provide better educational opportunities, a brighter future and the hope of the gospel.

The children of Haiti need you. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, aggravated by overpopulation (more than 9 million), drought, famine, hurricanes and the devastating earthquake of January 2010. It also has one of the youngest populations in the world. The median age is 20. The functional literacy rate is 20 percent, thus one of the greatest needs is helping children with educational development.

The Converge Worldwide Haitian Leadership Team in the U.S. has teamed up with churches in Haiti to make a difference in the lives of children and the communities where they live. Students at the Christian Institute of Salem, Paradise of Children School and Melchizedek Baptist School are available for sponsorship. Your support will help to:

  • Improve the quality of education at these Christian schools
  • Relieve families of the financial burden to educate their children
  • Communicate the gospel through education and loving teachers
  • Provide a nutritional meal during the school day
