1 million meals
On May 7 about 1200 volunteers in Mitchell, S.D., will gather at the Corn Palace to pack 340,000 meals in eight hours. The third annual food pack, coordinated by Deb Weitala of Northridge Baptist Church, should lift Mitchell over the 1 million-meal mark. Each meal includes six vegetables for taste, soy beans for protein, rice for filler, chicken fat and salt for hydration and 21 vitamins and minerals. Total cost to pack and ship a truckload of meals: $85,000. Learn more at www.impactlives.org.
Historic agreements signed in Sweden, Estonia and Finland
Bill and Arlie Ankerberg along with Converge president Jerry Sheveland and his wife Dee led a trip to Sweden, Estonia and Finland April 26 to May 5. The delegation of 20 included executive ministers Dan Carlson (Minnesota Iowa region) and Bruce and Kym Sumner (Converge Southwest). President Sheveland signed our historic first Ministry Covenants with Baptists in Sweden, Estonia and Finland, and Swedish-speaking Finland. These agreements will focus our Nordic-Baltic Partnership in the areas of church planting, leadership development (led by Ron and Mary Larson) and youth ministry (led by Mark Aalund and Richard Dietrich). Current plans include starting international churches in Stockholm, Sweden, and Tallinn, Estonia.

Hershbergers move to Panama
Missionaries Glenn and Susan Hershberger will move to Panama City, Panama, on May 14 to begin planting Life Bridge International Church, an English-speaking congregation started in partnership with the International Baptist Convention.
