At the Praying Church Conference, October 15-16 at Bloomington (Minn.) Baptist Church, Friday was devoted to prayer centered on the supremacy of Christ. Friday evening featured a citywide prayer gathering, facilitated by David Bryant, a leader in the international prayer movement and head of Proclaim Hope. Bryan Moak of the Prayer First Steering Team led worship as about 150 people from various denominations and churches around the state prayed toward revival and a “Christ Awakening.”
On Saturday Bob Bakke, of Global Day of Prayer and Bloomington Baptist Church, gave a message titled “Suffering for Christ Alone,” speaking of both Jesus’ compassion and outrage over the death of Lazarus. President Jerry Sheveland of Converge Worldwide closed the conference with “Living for Christ Alone,” a message based on the amazing and astonishing life of Jesus.
Prayer First partnered with other Minneapolis-area ministries to sponsor the conference, giving primary leadership. Plans are to consider a Praying Church Conference in other areas of the coun- try in 2011. Read the full report at www.convergeworldwide.org/news. —Reported by Carol Madison, Prayer First
