Steps to affiliating include the following:
- Initial conversation with Converge leadership – meet with a Converge pastor or regional leader to initially discuss the merits and values of affiliation.
- Converge leadership meeting with your church’s leadership team – discuss all of the issues including missional compatability, theological compatability, and what this relationship might look like.
- Provide Converge leadership with essential information on your church including: governing docs, church history, affirmation of faith, financial information, and current ministries info.
- Official request to affiliate – Provide Converge leadership with information detailing the decision of the church to affiliate with Converge. A letter to this effect is adequate.
- Schedule an affiliation council – this involves a meeting between your church’s leadership and area Converge pastors and leaders for the purpose of mutually discerning God’s will in the affiliation process.
- Official affirmation by Converge leadership – this usually involves the Regional Converge Board of Overseers. It can also involve an affirmation/celebration at a larger Converge gathering in your region.
