Converge Compassion

Converge Worldwide (BGC) has always been involved in ministries of compassion to the needy here at home and around the world. Local churches have stepped out into their communities touching those experiencing hardship with the compassionate love of Christ. Our International missionaries as well have engaged in everything from medical and education ministries to micro-finance, emergence relief and water development. In June 2006 with the launching of Compassion Ministries, Converge Worldwide (BGC) boldly stated that we must be more committed and more intentional in demonstrating the love of Christ to the world.

As Christ-followers moved by God's love, we understand the important connection between demonstrating the love of Jesus and sharing the Good News about Jesus. Compassion Ministries include:

Reaching out to those affected by drought, famine, war and natural disasters through Converge World Relief.
Offering Child sponsorship in rural Haiti, providing education, meals and health care.
Church- or community- based food-packing projects to alleviate hunger.
Provide practical and technical guidance for

individual (jennyv@convergeww.org) mission trips and
the formation of short-term teams .

From The Message: Isaiah 58: 6-9
"This is the kind of fast day I'm after:
to break the chains of injustice,
get rid of exploitation in the workplace,
free the oppressed,
cancel debts.
What I'm interested in seeing you do is:
sharing your food with the hungry,
inviting the homeless poor into your homes,
putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad,
being available to your own families.
Do this and the lights will turn on,
and your lives will turn around at once.
